Report of Astaena pygidialis Kirsch (Coleoptera: Scarabaeidae), the Main Chafer Beetle Causing Damage to Avocado Fruit and Young Leaves in Antioquia Department, Colombia

Scarab beetles (Coleoptera: Scarabaeidae) are one of the most limiting pests avocado in Antioquia Department, Colombia. The establishment management strategies to control these has been difficult because species causing damage fruit and young leaves have not identified. Selected commercial fields were surveyed at different times d for scarab beetle adults affecting small leaves, as well other plant structures such flowers, tender buds, stems, mature leaves. Additionally, ultraviolet light traps placed each field quantify captured. After direct scouting trees, only detected all sampling sites was Astaena pygidialis Kirsch Melolonthinae).
